Let’s Go! Launches Its Fruit and Veggie Campaign

Are frozen and canned fruits and vegetables just as good for you as fresh? Yes! Their nutrients are preserved in the canning and freezing process. They cost less and taste great and can be added to any recipe! In April, Let’s Go! is kicking off a new educational campaign promoting frozen and canned fruits and vegetables as a great addition to fresh. Learn more…


School Symposium

The first 5-2-1-0 Goes to School symposium was held on April 2, 2009, with over 125 people representing nearly 30 school districts from across the state. The symposium provided participating schools with an opportunity to share how they have used the 5-2-1-0 Goes to School program to create healthier environments. Learn more…

Redy Awards were also handed out to eight individuals and two organizations who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, leadership and innovation to Let’s Go! interventions. Learn more…

WinteRush

In February, Let’s Go participated in WinteRush by helping to promote good nutrition at concession stands and to promote physical activity at Winterfit. During the winter months we all know that it can be a challenge to keep your family active and to eat healthy. That is why Let’s Go! partnered with the Portland Public Health Divisions efforts for this event. Learn more….

5-2-1-0 Goes to Child Care Pilot

As we learn more about how important healthy eating and physical activity are to a child’s development and how this foundation impacts his/her health in later life, educating parents and care-givers is an ongoing need. We are creating a Let’s Go! 5-2-1-0 Goes to Child Care Toolkit, based on our School Toolkit, but customized to the 0-5 age group and geared towards child care facilities. Learn more…
