Let’s Go! Awards 2011 Community Mini-Grant

Agencies collaborate to promote healthy eating and physical activity, preventing childhood obesity.

Let’s Go! issued a mini-grant of close to $10,000 to a consortium of Portland childcare providers. The funds will be used by Catherine Morrill Day Nursery, Youth and Family Outreach and St. Elizabeth’s Child Development Center. These agencies will collaborate and share grant funds to ensure that all three environments are equipped with similar materials to promote healthy eating and physical activity. These are the important environmental changes that support childhood obesity prevention work that is already occurring in the facilities.

Where in the Region is Redy?

Redy is a native Mainer and has lived in the Portland area all his life. He appears at events and locations throughout the state.

Can you guess where Redy is in this photo?

Reply to this E-News with your answer. The first person to guess correctly will receive a Let's Go! Redy gift pack.

The answer to our last E-News WitRIR?

Redy attended the 2010 5210 Goes to School Symposium, held at the Garden Hilton in Auburn, and couldn't help but pose for a photo op by the lovely (and active!) falls between Auburn and Lewiston. Notice how he highlighted the scenic StoryWalk we had set up by the river.

Redy gives those of you who guessed correctly a big Red(y) thumbs-up!
